Heat treatment
Hot-formed WPB, WPC, and WPR fittings upon which the final forming operation is completed at a temperature above 1150°F [620°C] and below 1800°F [980°C] need not be heat treated provided they are cooled in still air.

Low and middle pressure fluid pipeline, boiler, petroleum and natural gas industry, drilling, chemical industry, Refinery Company, fertilizer industry, power station, shipbuilding, onshore platform.
Standard Marking:
Each fitting shall be permanently marked to show the following:
(a) manufacturer’s name or trademark
(b) material identification, either the ASTM or ASME grade designation 2
(c) schedule number 1 or nominal wall thickness in mm
(d) size — the nominal pipe size (NPS) identification number related to the end connections shall be used
(e) compliance — see para. 4.4 for standard and spe-cial fitting marking A manufacturer may supplement these mandatory markings with others, including a DN size designation, but confusion with the required marking shall be avoided.
Materials:
The material in standard A234 for fittings shall consist of killed steel, forgings, bars, plates, seamless or fusion-welded tubular products with filler metal added and shall conform to the chemical requirements of Table 1. Unless otherwise speci-fied for carbon steel plates, the steel may be made to either coarse grain or fine grain practice. Grade WP9 shall be made to fine grain practice
